Mission Statement:
"The Friends support the Mission of the Paul Pratt Memorial Library
through ongoing fund-raising and advocacy to enhance library resources and programming and to provide community outreach services."
Friends of the Cohasset Library
The Friends of the Cohasset Library is a non-profit organization formed to enrich the library by funding projects beyond the scope of the library’s appropriated budget. The Friends’ Board of Directors solicits annual donations each Fall through a town-wide mailing. These donations constitute their annual budget. Any donor is deemed to be a Friend of the Library and is welcome to the annual meeting in June. The Friends’ contributions to the library vary each year depending upon the needs and requests from the Library Director, Children’s Librarian and the Trustees. Historically, the Friends have funded the library’s Museum Pass program and the Children’s Program. The Friends have also funded the purchase of computer technology and commissioned and restored art works. Additionally, the Friends host the library’s Artist Receptions, organize art auctions and book sales, recognize Staff and Volunteers annually with a Summer fete, and deliver library materials to the homebound as part of the library’s Outreach Program. The Friends will consider any request or challenge within their guidelines and budget.
