Summer Reading with a Purpose: Supporting Heifer International
This summer, every time you visit the library to share your reading progress or turn in your reading log, you'll get a special reward -- a colorful button featuring an animal or cause supported by Heifer International! Collect a new button each week as you dive into new stories and adventures.
But that's not all! At our Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party on August 12th, all participants who return their reading logs will get to vote on which animal the library will donate to a family in need -- a pig or a goat -- through Heifer International.
What is Heifer International?
Heifer International is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty by providing livestock, education, and resources to families around the world. A gift of an animal -- like a pig or a goat -- helps a family create a sustainable source of food and income for years to come.
By reading and participating this summer, you'll not only build your own skills and imagination, but you'll also help us make a real difference in the world. Every book you read brings us closer to our goal!
So grab your reading log, start collecting buttons, and get ready to cast your vote at the end of the summer. Let's read to change the world!
"Level Up at Your Library!" is sponsored by the Paul Pratt Memorial Library, the Friends of the Cohasset Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences.
